A Christmas Message to the People of Manipur - COCOMI 2025

This Christmas, as the gentle hills of our beloved Manipur await the message of peace, our hearts remain heavy with sorrow, yet steadfast in hope. In this season of grace, when the world celebrates joy and renewal, our land continues to endure profound pain. Yet, it is precisely in such moments of darkness that the light of Christmas shines most brightly.

The words of Lord Jesus Christ speak directly to our wounded hearts:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
(John 14:27)

This peace is not merely the absence of violence, but the presence of justice, compassion, and healing. It calls upon us to restore harmony, rebuild trust, and walk the difficult path of reconciliation with courage and humility. True peace demands that we stand together to heal our land and protect the dignity of every human life.

As the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), and as sons and daughters of this sacred soil, we are reminded that the first Christmas itself was a story of hope born amid hardship, a light entering the world at its most vulnerable hour. That message remains timeless: even in the deepest night, hope is never extinguished.

This Christmas, we must extend our collective conscience toward the displaced and innocent people who continue to suffer in relief camps, deprived of home, security, and normalcy. Let us open our hearts and hands to provide every possible support, solidarity, and care, so that no child, woman, or elder is left behind in this long and painful journey.

In the spirit of Christ, who taught us to forgive even in suffering, we pray for the strength to forgive those who have committed sin and violence in His name or otherwise. This is not to justify wrongdoing, but to free our hearts from hatred and allow healing to begin. May the Lord soften hardened hearts, awaken conscience, and guide all toward repentance, truth, and peace.

Let us choose love over fear, unity over division, and compassion over vengeance. May the Lord shower us with His boundless love, lasting peace, and unbreakable unity, and may His light guide Manipur toward restoration, reconciliation, and a future rooted in justice and fraternity.

May God bless you and your families this Christmas season.
May He bless, heal, and protect our beloved Manipur.

With faith and solidarity,
For a United, Peaceful, and Restored Manipur
